Requiring more room for farm animals means that farmers can hold fewer of them on their property.  That in turn means that farmers will earn less revenue per square foot of containment space they own.  Prop 2 shifts the supply curve of meat, milk and eggs to the left, causing a price increase.

The economy is tanking.  I’d prefer not to explain to a family of six living in a one bedroom apartment in Korea Town that they can’t afford as much food as they did last month because some rich white people thought that chickens needed more legroom.
