“Hi, I called about the iPhone 4S for AT&T? You put it on hold for me?” “Oh yes, let me get the guy with the card. Oh and just so you know, we’re not going to be able to set it up, because the AT&T authorization system has been down since yesterday. We’re not sure when it will come back up. But after you buy it you can come back at 4pm? Maybe 6pm?”

“Hi, do you have any iPhone 4Ss for AT&T in stock?” “You have to make a reservation.” “I’m sorry?” “You need to go onto the Apple website and make a reservation for between 9pm and 12am. You can’t just walk in and buy one.” “I need to come back in the middle of the night?” “You need to make a reservation.”

“Hi, do you have any iPhone 4Ss for AT&T in stock?” “We have limited supply.” “Uh, what do you mean?” “I mean we haven’t gotten any shipments today so there may be more coming, and right now we have limited supply.” “I’m sorry, I don’t understand. Does that mean you have AT&T iPhones in stock or not?” ...

rebloggingobama: barackobama: M. on why we can’t wait: I’m in my first semester of my first year of law school, but everyone I know is already telling me that I won’t have a job when I graduate. It’s frustrating and extremely disheartening to try to adjust to this major commitment I’ve made to my education with little or no hope of employment after I graduate with a law degree. You’re...

I thought maybe you’d come across another account of what happened to Manuel El Ruido Corcuera, as the story I have was pieced together from the hospital record of the incident and also interviews...

- Reveille, every morning at 8am, loud, from somewhere across Hyperion. - Helicopters, landing at the hospital, or chasing criminals, or flying in some kind of military procession. - Opera. Origin unknown. - Machetes, “pruning” the bushes, weekly. - Someone practicing the panpipes, Saturdays after 2am, from the very large house across the street that’s up on top of a hill. -...

I was wondering if you could tell me where you found the story you blogged yesterday. It came up in my Google alert for Bishop Canyon. I study ancient Native American cultures, specifically those in Southern California and Northern Mexico. There’s a story...

What I saw last night.
Alright, a little background. Copper kept acting like a bully at the dog park so I stopped taking him there. He still needed a large area to run around, off leash, so I’ve been taking him to various local parks, after dark, when there are no other dogs around. Spotify ad #1: “Why let a computer pick what bands you should listen to? Isn’t it better when your friends make the recommendations? This is why Spotify is awesome.”* Spotify ad #2: “If you get into a groove with a particular band you like, Spotify will automatically recommend new bands that sound similar.”* They played right after each other. *paraphrasing.
