“He’s just cold visitin’ every goddamn landmark in the country, like he’s crossing them off his bucket list, or something.”
“It’s like there’s that one room in the White House where a David Lynch movie is constantly happening.”
For Villard Trade Paperbacks, Jill Schwartzman has acquired OLD JEWS TELLING JOKES by Sam Hoffman with Eric Spiegelman, based on the very popular online video series and website of the same name (created by Sam Hoffman and produced by Jetpack Media, Tim Williams and Eric Spiegelman). The book will feature hilarious, irreverent, and sometimes bawdy jokes told by “old Jews” (both men and women, all over 60, including Ed Koch, Daniel Okrent, and Harry Macklowe), and the fascinating stories behind both the jokes and the tellers. A DVD of their first season was released 9/15 by First Run Features. The North American Rights book deal was negotiated by Kate Lee at ICM.
